Fresh Dragon Fruit

Dragon fruit has become one of Indonesia’s main fruit exports. Indonesia has two types of dragon fruit region based on flowering and fruiting seasons. The first type is the area near the equator, the flowering and fruiting season occurring throughout the year. The second type of region is in the Southern Hemisphere with the flowering and fruiting season occurring from November to April.

Dragon fruit comes in red and white flesh varieties. White flesh dragon fruit often has a milder taste while red flesh dragon fruit can be sweeter and juicier. None the less, both varieties offer many potential health benefits, including: rich in antioxidants (Flavonoids, Phenolic Acid and Betacyanin), fat-free and high in fiber, contains prebiotics, lower blood sugar, strengthen immune system and boost iron levels.
